Desco Infratech commissions part of CBG plant in Uttar Pradesh

The initial phase of the CBG project establishes an operational output capacity of 1 TPD, representing the first step toward achieving the plant’s full designed capacity of 5 TPD.

Desco Infratech Limited has announced that its subsidiary, Shri Green Agro Energies Private Ltd (SGAEPL), has successfully commissioned Phase-1 of a 5 tonnes per day (TPD) compressed biogas (CBG) plant in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. The company has revealed before the SEBI in regulatory filing.

The milestone marks it’s strategic entry into the renewable energy sector, with commercial sales expected to commence shortly. DESCO Infratech acquired SGAEPL earlier this year.

The initial phase of the CBG project establishes an operational output capacity of 1 TPD, representing the first step toward achieving the plant’s full designed capacity of 5 TPD. The facility will convert agricultural residue and organic waste into sustainable fuel, contributing to India’s waste-to-energy goals and reducing reliance on conventional fossil fuels.

The commissioning also fulfills commitments made by Desco Infratech during its May 2026 Investor Call, where it outlined plans to operationalize its CBG business. With the plant nearing commercial readiness, Desco Infratech is poised to begin generating revenue from the bio-energy segment.

Project Details indicate that the plant is located in Bulandshahr and is designed to process agricultural and organic waste as feedstock. The development aligns with the SATAT initiative, which aims to promote the adoption of cleaner fuels and strengthen the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.

Desco Infratech Managing Director Pankaj Pruthi Desai described the commissioning as a defining milestone in the company’s growth journey. He stated that the project reflects the company’s commitment to executing its strategic vision and delivering on promises made to investors. Desai added that the operational 1 TPD capacity provides a scalable platform for future expansion within the renewable energy value chain.

Desco Infratech is engaged in infrastructure development and EPC services across sectors including City Gas Distribution, power, and renewable energy. The company has been actively diversifying into emerging sectors, with a focus on sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

The commissioning comes at a time when the CBG sector in India is witnessing strong momentum, driven by supportive government policies and increasing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
