Nexgen Energia to invest Rs 3000 Crore in CBG plant in Gujarat

The announcement follows discussions with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, paving the way for a more environmentally friendly and sustainable energy landscape in the state.

Noida based sustainable energy solutions provider Nexgen Energia has announced that it will be investing about Rs 3,000 crore in a state-of-the-art Compressed Biogas (CBG) facility in Gujarat. This initiative marks a significant step towards advancing alternative fuel usage in India. The announcement follows discussions with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, paving the way for a more environmentally friendly and sustainable energy landscape in the state.

The ambitious investment from Nexgen Energia aims to establish a comprehensive CBG plant that not only generates compressed biogas but also includes the setup of Electric Vehicle (EV) units and associated infrastructure within Gujarat.

This integrated approach underscores the dedication of Nexgen Energia to nurturing a holistic eco-friendly energy ecosystem. The CBG project is expected to formalize through an MoU with the Gujarat state government.

At the core of the strategy of Nexgen Energia lies the innovative conversion of agricultural residue and waste into valuable biogas, tackling both waste management and sustainable fuel production challenges. This process not only produces CBG for CNG stations, thus reducing dependence on fossil fuels, but also generates organic fertilizer as a by-product.

Nexgen Energia believes that this transformative approach not only has the potential to revolutionize the energy sector but also offers tangible benefits to local farmers by turning waste into a source of income and agricultural productivity.

Expanding Beyond Gujarat

The Gujarat project aligns with the broader vision of Nexgen Energia for India’s energy future. With operational CBG plants already established in Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, the company’s latest endeavor in Gujarat signifies a substantial expansion of its presence.

Nexgen Energia is now preparing to commence construction on its ground-breaking CBG plant in Gujarat. With its innovative approach to waste management, fuel production, and agricultural enhancement, the company is stepping up its investment for a greener future for India & setting a precedent for global emulation.
