NetXeroC, Ivys Extend CBG Partnership for Wider Waste Streams

  • The two companies are currently working on nine projects involving wastewater-based biogas, agricultural residues, and sugar-mill pressmud.
  • The renewed arrangement builds on the companies’ existing wastewater-to-CBG work and extends their focus to selected agricultural residues, agro-industrial waste, and energy crops.

NetXeroC and Canadian gas-separation technology company Ivys Adsorption are extending their collaboration in India for another three years, opening the way for their compressed biogas (CBG) partnership to address a wider range of organic waste streams. The two companies are currently working on nine projects involving wastewater-based biogas, agricultural residues and sugar-mill pressmud.

In a press release, the firm said that its renewed arrangement builds on the companies’ existing wastewater-to-CBG work and extends their focus to selected agricultural residues, agro-industrial waste and energy crops. Ivys’s fast-cycle rotary valve pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology will support a broader portfolio of Indian waste-to-energy projects, including applications in food processing, paper manufacturing, distilleries, dairies and sugar mills. Projects typically range from 5 to 26 tonnes per day.

Connecting international technology with Indian project requirements

As India looks to expand its compressed biogas capacity, project developers need solutions that account for feedstock characteristics, digestion processes, gas purification, wastewater management and plant execution. NetXeroC works across these areas, identifying relevant technologies internationally and adapting them to Indian operating conditions in collaboration with technology partners. The company also handles engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC), helping customers move from technology selection to delivering integrated waste-to-energy facilities. As a CBG consultant, it evaluates technology options and develops project solutions suited to individual industrial requirements. The extended Ivys partnership reflects this approach.

Strengthening capabilities in biogas upgrading

Gas purification is a critical element of a biogas project’s long-term performance. Across a typical project life of 12 to 15 years, the purification system can directly influence methane recovery, product-gas quality and total cost of ownership (TCO). Through its collaboration with Ivys, NetXeroC is strengthening its capabilities in biogas upgrading and purification, addressing both industrial wastewater applications and selected agricultural, agro-industrial and energy-crop feedstocks. The company is applying a similar technology-led approach across a wider pipeline of biogas, CBG and industrial wastewater projects in India, with particular activity in the paper and sugar sectors. Its current projects include Devpriya Group, Athani Sugars, Silverton, Sainsons Paper Industries, Maruti Papers and Star Abhiyan.

These projects involve diverse industrial waste streams, including paper-mill wastewater, pressmud and other organic residues. By combining waste treatment with energy recovery, they offer opportunities to address industrial effluent challenges while making productive use of organic resources. The portfolio also reflects NetXeroC’s growing experience in EPC delivery for CBG projects incorporating Ivys’ biogas purification technology. Beyond biogas and CBG, NetXeroC undertakes industrial wastewater treatment assignments, working with industries to manage effluent, recover energy where feasible, and reduce their environmental footprint.

Making greater use of industrial organic waste

Many industrial facilities generate wastewater alongside solid organic residues. Treating these streams through an integrated approach can create opportunities to recover more energy from waste generated at the same site. For sugar mills, distilleries, food processors and other industrial operators, suitable organic materials such as pressmud and agricultural residues can serve as CBG feedstocks alongside the continued management of wastewater. The expanded partnership provides a framework for NetXeroC and Ivys to pursue such opportunities while continuing their existing work in wastewater-based biogas.

With nine projects already under development across different applications, NetXeroC is expanding its presence in India’s CBG sector by combining international technology partnerships with local engineering and project execution capabilities.

Executive perspectives

“India has a significant opportunity to turn industrial waste into a reliable source of clean energy, but every project needs to be designed around the actual feedstock and operating conditions on the ground. Our role is to bring proven global technologies to India and make them work effectively here. Extending our partnership with Ivys allows us to take that approach into more CBG and select solid-waste projects, while building on the work we are already doing across wastewater, paper, sugar and other industrial sectors,” said Suchit Dekivadia, Chief Executive Officer, NetXeroC.

“India’s organic waste represents a significant opportunity to produce reliable, locally sourced CBG while reducing methane emissions and keeping valuable resources in circulation. Together with NetXeroC, we can pair deep local project expertise with Ivys’s advanced gas-purification technology to deliver efficient, scalable solutions for Indian industries. This is exactly how we put our mission into action—enabling a sustainable and circular future through innovation, shared purpose and practical pathways to a cleaner planet,” said Prabhu Rao, Executive Chairman, Ivys Adsorption.
