New bio-CNG plant inaugurated by Alchemy Cleantech, Paragon Biofuels in Gujarat
The new Bio-CNG facility in Ankleshwar is designed to process 43,800 tonnes of organic waste annually, converting it into 2,373 tonnes of Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG).
Bio-CNG developer and operator Alchemy Cleantech and clean energy player Paragon Biofuels have announced to have jointly inaugurated the Ankleshwar Bio-CNG plant. They termed it as a significant step in their strategic collaboration to strengthen India’s waste-to-energy ecosystem.
The new Bio-CNG facility in Gujarat is designed to process 43,800 tonnes of organic waste annually, converting it into 2,373 tonnes of Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG). According to Alchemy Cleantech, the plant is expected to reduce carbon emissions by approximately 17,000 tonnes each year—an environmental benefit equivalent to conserving 6,272.6 hectares of forest land or saving nearly 7.95 million litres of petrol.
In addition to clean energy generation, the Bio-CNG plant will produce 7,300 tonnes of solid Fermented Organic Manure (FOM) and 27,375 cubic metres of liquid FOM annually. These nutrient-rich bio-fertilisers are intended to support sustainable agricultural practices while promoting a circular approach to waste management.
Alchemy Cleantech believes that the Ankleshwar Bio-CNG project serves as a model for their broader vision of deploying scalable and replicable waste-to-energy infrastructure across India’s industrial and urban centres.

Alchemy Cleantech currently operates six (6) bio-CNG plants in the country with an installed capacity of 34-TPD. They build standalone CBG projects and also factory integrated bio-CNG systems.
