Pasupati Acrylon to raise ethanol capacity to 180 KLPD

The company held in its disclosure that the expansion will not require any fresh capital investment, as it is being achieved through enhanced operational efficiency.

Moradabad based Pasupati Acrylon Limited has secured approval from the Excise Department of Uttar Pradesh to expand the capacity of its ethanol plant from 150 kilolitres (KL) per day to 180 KL per day. The announcement has been made by Pasupati Acrylon in a stock exchange filing on May 13, 2026.

In its regulatory submission to the BSE and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the company stated that the additional 30 KL per day capacity is expected to be operational by the first quarter of the financial year 2026–27. Notably, the expansion will not require any fresh capital investment, as it is being achieved through enhanced operational efficiency.

The disclosure was made by Bharat Kapoor, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer, in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The company also highlighted that its existing ethanol facility is currently running at full capacity, subject to allocation of orders from oil marketing companies (OMCs). With the proposed increase, daily output will rise to 180 KL, enabling the company to better meet growing demand under India’s ethanol blending programme.

Based in Thakurdwara in Uttar Pradesh’s Moradabad district, Pasupati Acrylon claims to be an active contributor to India’s ethanol supply chain. The expansion—achieved without additional capital outlay—reflects a broader trend among ethanol producers in the state to scale up production in response to sustained demand driven by national blending targets.

Uttar Pradesh has emerged as leading ethanol-producing state of the country. As per one estimate the state has an annual installed production capacity of about 236 crore litres (FY 2024-25). This capacity is driven by the state’s vast sugarcane base, fueling over 80 operational distilleries.
