L&T Forays into Green Hydrogen by Joining Hands with McPhy

This electrolyser site will be established in the manufacturing hub of the Indian firm at Hazira, Gujarat. The firm's entry into green hydrogen sector is part of its Rs 10,000-crore grand plan for green hydrogen.

Indian multinational Larsen & Toubro (L&T), has revealed that it has joined hands with French firm McPhy, which delves into electrolyzer technology. This agreement will pave the way for both the firms to explore opportunities with regards to technology for electrolyser manufacture,  green hydrogen ecosystem – electrolyser manufacturing and production of the gas.

L&T will set foot into the hydrogen sector with electrolyser manufacturing. Under the agreement, McPhy is to transfer the ‘pressurised alkaline electrolyser’ technology to L&T. Based on the French firm’s technology in electrolyzers, L&T is looking at setting up large scale manufacture facility. This electrolyser site will be established in the manufacturing hub of the Indian firm at Hazira, Gujarat. The firm’s entry into this sector is part of its Rs 10,000-crore grand plan for green hydrogen. The facility will cater to both Indian and global markets.
