VERRA REGISTRY: EverEnviro CBG project is 1st in India to secure carbon credits

EverEnviro said the carbon credit issuance validates its approach of developing large-scale, commercially viable projects that convert waste into energy and other value-added outputs while delivering measurable environmental benefits.

Gurugram based biofuels innovator EverEnviro Resource Management has said that its Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) project in Indore has secured 132,883 Verified Carbon Units (VCUs) under the Verra Registry, marking a significant development for India’s CBG and waste-to-energy sector.

The company said the CBG project is the first of its scale in Asia to receive carbon credits under the Verra Registry. The issuance highlights the potential of CBG projects to generate additional value through verified emission reductions while supporting waste management and clean fuel production.

Carbon credits provide an economic value to measurable reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and can help attract investment into low-carbon technologies and infrastructure.

EverEnviro said the carbon credit issuance validates its approach of developing large-scale, commercially viable projects that convert waste into energy and other value-added outputs while delivering measurable environmental benefits.

EverEnviro also said the development demonstrates how India’s growing CBG infrastructure can contribute to the emerging carbon economy and broader climate action efforts.

The company has entered into a ‘Joint Venture’ agreement with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) to fostering sustainable energy solutions in India. It has a similar agreement with ONGC to set up 10 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants across India to reduce India’s reliance on imported gas and boost domestic renewable energy production.
