TruAlt Bioenergy targets expansion in ethanol-CBG-SAF

Bengaluru based TruAlt Bioenergy Ltd has convened its fifth annual general meeting (AGM) and its first since becoming a listed company, as it outlined plans to expand its presence across ethanol, compressed biogas (CBG), sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and fuel retail.
The meeting, conducted virtually, was chaired by MB Dyaberi, with key managerial personnel and independent directors providing shareholders with updates on operations and governance.
TruAlt said about 1,300 KLPD of its 2,000 KLPD ethanol capacity has been converted to dual-feed capability, representing nearly 65% of its installed capacity. Management said the next priority is to improve capacity utilisation to 85% and beyond.
In CBG, TruAlt highlighted a rise in the administered price from Rs 85 to Rs 104 per kg. Three plants, each with a capacity of 20 tonnes per day, are currently under construction, taking the combined capacity to 60 TPD. The company is also working with GAIL and Sumitomo to support further expansion.
The 100 MLPA SAF project of TruAlt in Andhra Pradesh is progressing with support from a Rs 150 crore grant under the PM JI-VAN Yojana. The facility is expected to offer logistics advantages and reduce lifecycle carbon intensity by about 70% compared with conventional aviation fuel.
TruAlt currently operates seven fuel retail outlets and has set a Phase I target of 100 stations.
Moreover, during the AGM, shareholders approved the FY26 audited financial statements and reappointed Vishal Nirani as an executive-category director. Resolutions also covered cost auditor remuneration, executive director commission and the appointment of secretarial auditors for five years.
TruAlt reported a more than 11-fold jump in consolidated net profit for the first quarter of Financial Year-2027, aided by a sharp increase in ethanol production capacity and improved operational performance.
