Jaipur headquartered Gravita India Ltd announced the successful commissioning of its lithium-ion battery recycling plant at Mundra, Gujarat, marking a strategic entry into the fast-growing battery recycling segment. The development was disclosed on January 23, 2026, through a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of the SEBI, underscoring Gravita India focus on sustainable growth and innovation.
The new recycling facility by Gravita India has been established with an investment of about Rs 14 crore, funded entirely through internal accruals. Designed with a processing capacity of 6,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA), the Mundra plant significantly enhances the firm’s ability to cater to the rising demand for environmentally responsible recycling solutions, driven by the rapid expansion of electric vehicles (EVs), energy storage systems, and renewable energy applications.
Equipped with cutting-edge recycling technology, the plant emphasizes safe, efficient, and sustainable processing of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. The advanced systems deployed at the facility are aimed at minimizing environmental impact, reducing hazardous waste, and enabling the recovery and reuse of valuable materials.
