ACME Group secures SECI order to supply green ammonia to Paradeep Phosphates
ACME will be supplying 75,000 MT of green ammonia ever year to Paradeep Phosphates Ltd over a 10-year period. The contract is awarded under SIGHT Scheme – Mode 2A, Tranche I – at a finalised price of Rs 55.75 per kilogram.
Gurgaon-headquartered clean energy conglomerate ACME Group announced that it has secured a major contract from Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI) to supply 75,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually to Paradeep Phosphates Limited over a 10-year period.
The contract was awarded under the SIGHT Scheme – Mode 2A, Tranche I – at a finalised price of Rs 55.75 per kilogram, following a competitive reverse auction held recently.
ACME Cleantech Solutions, a key entity within the ACME Group, will handle the supply operations, with deliveries set to begin within 36 months of signing the Green Ammonia Purchase Agreement (GAPA) with SECI.
The green ammonia will be delivered by the ACME Group to Paradeep Phosphates manufacturing facility located in Paradeep, Odisha.
Anil Kumar Taparia, Chief Operating Officer of ACME Group’s Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Strategic Business Unit, hailed the contract as a “pivotal milestone” that aligns with the objectives of the National Green Hydrogen Mission. This initiative marks a significant advancement in India’s clean energy journey, specifically targeting the decarbonisation of hard-to-abate industrial sectors.
Positioning itself as a pioneer in India’s green hydrogen economy, ACME Group sees this contract as a key step in the commercial rollout of green hydrogen derivatives. It reinforces the group’s strategy to be at the forefront of India’s transition to renewable energy, particularly in the fast-emerging green ammonia sector.
Last year, ACME Group and Japan’s IHI Corporation signed an offtake term sheet for supply of green ammonia from the state of Odisha to Japan. As per reports, the investment in the project has been expected to go upto Rs 59,000 crore.
