STEER World’s netiBIO awarded for biomass innovation at BBB Expo-2026

netiBIO, the bioenergy arm of STEER World, has been awarded the “Breakthrough Technology to Pre-Condition Biomass and Agri Residue for Value Creation in Bioenergy and Biofuels” at the 5th BBB International Expo and Summit 2026. The event was held at IICC Yashobhoomi in New Delhi.

The recognition highlights the contribution of netiBIO to addressing a critical bottleneck in India’s compressed biogas (CBG) sector—enhancing the digestibility and conversion efficiency of biomass and agricultural residue prior to anaerobic digestion.

According to netiBIO, its advanced biomass pre-treatment technology improves feedstock processing efficiency and can increase biogas yields by up to 2.1 times under optimal operating conditions.

The award was received by Rajaraman DC, Chief Business Officer of STEER World’s Bioenergy Division. It was presented by prominent industry and policy leaders, including Anand Kumar, former Secretary of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE); Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, former Secretary of MNRE; and Gaurav Kedia, Chairman of the Indian Biogas Association (IBA).

Commenting on the achievement, Nitin Gupta, Executive Director and Global CEO of STEER World, said that improving biogas yields from existing biomass and agricultural residues is one of the most effective ways to strengthen the financial viability of CBG plants in India. He added that the recognition reinforces the company’s commitment to developing scalable and practical pre-treatment solutions for the sector.

The netiBIO technology is designed to optimise the utilisation of agricultural residues, enhance feedstock processing efficiency, and support waste-to-value initiatives for CBG plant operators. It can also be integrated into existing plant infrastructure, contributing to India’s broader push to expand renewable biogas production.

The BBB International Expo and Summit, organised by the Indian Biogas Association in collaboration with Indus Exposium and Reveille Energy. The event is supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
