Steamhouse India plans new waste-to-energy projects, capacity expansion

Surat based Steamhouse India has announced in mandatory filing that the company is expanding its green energy portfolio with new waste-to-energy and renewable energy projects, alongside a significant increase in its green boiler capacity.

Steamhouse said that it has secured a Rs 311 crore EPC order, including GST, for a 300 TPH community boiler facility at Bulk Drug Park in Una, Himachal Pradesh. The project also includes a long-term operations and maintenance contract, providing the company an opportunity to generate recurring revenue after commissioning.

Steamhouse is also strengthening its renewable energy portfolio with a 3.04 MW AC ground-mounted solar project at Ankleshwar. In the waste-to-energy segment, the company has submitted an Expression of Interest for a proposed 400 TPD Waste-to-Steam project with the Surat Municipal Corporation.

The company expects its green boiler capacity to rise nearly seven-fold, from 15 TPH in FY26 to 105 TPH in FY27, as it expands its clean-energy operations. It is also developing pipeline infrastructure to support the expansion of its nitrogen business.

Massive Rise in Net Profit

The expansion comes as Steamhouse reported strong financial performance in the first quarter of FY27. Standalone net profit increased 80% year-on-year to Rs 183.42 million, while revenue from operations rose 13.35% to Rs 1,286.21 million.

EBITDA increased 60.08% to Rs 309.32 million, with the margin expanding to 24.05%. The company attributed the improvement partly to better utilisation of its waste-to-energy boilers and higher steam sales, which increased 16.70% year-on-year.

Chairman and Managing Director Vishal S. Budhia said steam supply volumes grew both sequentially and annually. He added that the company continued to protect steam margins through contractual coal-cost pass-through mechanisms.

Steamhouse also raised Rs 500 million through private placement and secured Rs 750 million through non-convertible debentures during the quarter. Subsequently, the company completed its IPO and listed on NSE and BSE on September 17, 2026, raising Rs 4,140 million.
