The National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) has called for bids for the development of a 32MW solar PV project in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh.
As per the tender document, online bids are invited through domestic competitive bidding process over a single stage – two-part bidding basis (i.e. Part-I: QR + Technical- Bid and Part-II : Financial Bid) with e-reverse auction by NHPC Ltd. for and on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (a Joint Venture of NHPC Ltd. and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency i.e. UPNEDA).

The tender invited bids for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contracts for the development of the grid-connected power plant along with the construction of a 132 kV power evacuation equipment at Parasan village, Kalpi, Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh with its comprehensive operation & maintenance for ten years. Thus, the scope of work for the winning bidders will include the design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, testing, insurance, supply, installation, commissioning, and comprehensive operation and maintenance of the project for a 10-year period.
The agency will open the period for bid-submission on the 1st of January,2019 and the final date for online bid-submission has been set for 25th of January, while offline bids will be accepted up to 29th January. Pred-bid meeting will precede the opening of the bids and will be held on 24th December 2018. Technical bids will open January 30th, while the opening of financial bids will be announced at a later date. Each interested bidder is required to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹1.95 crores.
The project completion timeframe will be 12 months from the date of issue of letter of award of the contract.
The NHPC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2015 with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to set up 250 MW of solar projects in the country. NHPC has also made a commitment to the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) to set up a minimum of 430 MW of renewable energy projects in the next five years as part of the Green Energy Commitment.
In July, it also received the go-ahead signal from State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) for 260 MW of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) projects to be developed in Bihar.
