An integrated waste recycling facility with an annual processing capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes has been inaugurated by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant. The inauguration took place at the Verna Industrial Estate in Goa, bringing e-waste recycling, precious metals recovery, critical mineral refining and PET plastic recycling under one roof.
Spread across 26,664 sq ft, the facility operated by PureCycle Recycling, a subsidiary of BlackGold, covers the recycling chain from collection and dismantling to segregation, material recovery and refining. The plant is equipped with more than 15 specialised processing systems and a 3 CMD zero-liquid-discharge effluent treatment plant.
The PureCycle Recycling facility is expected to strengthen domestic supplies of critical and strategic materials by recovering valuable resources from waste, reducing dependence on imports and supporting circular supply chains.
Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant held that the project would add a new dimension to the state’s waste-management ecosystem by enabling high-value materials to be recovered and returned to productive use.
PureCycle Recycling became eligible in May under the Union Mines Ministry’s Incentive Scheme for Promotion of Critical Mineral Recycling, part of the National Critical Minerals Mission.
The facility will serve the technology, electronics and telecom sectors, while also providing secure data destruction and IT asset-disposition services. BlackGold stated that the PureCycle Recycling project will contribute to resource security and the development of a circular economy.
