Madhya Pradesh looks at Punjabi investments in ethanol, other sectors

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has conducted one-on-one business meetings with some notable industrialists from the state of Punjab. These meetings were held during the Chief Minister’s visit to the industrial hub of Ludhiana. He highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s investor-friendly environment and policies to the business community.

At the investor meet held in Ludhiana, CM Yadav shared that the series of interactive sessions, personal meetings, and discussions resulted in investment proposals amounting to Rs 15,606 crore. These proposals are expected to create over 20,000 employment opportunities. He extended an open invitation to the industrial community in Ludhiana and Punjab to consider Madhya Pradesh as a destination for setting up their businesses.

Mohan Yadav has assured the business leaders that the state government remains flexible and open to making policy amendments to support fresh investment opportunities. Dr. Yadav also reiterated the state’s balanced approach to industrial development, with a focus on safeguarding the interests of both businesses and the workforce.

He also outlined the state’s rich natural and human resources, along with its progressive industrial policies designed to attract and sustain investment.

Several industry leaders attended the event and interacted with the Chief Minister. In the textile sector, he met Dinesh Oswal, CMD of Nahar Group; Navneet Gupta, CFO of SEL Group; and Manjit Singh from the Bonn Group of Industries. From the steel industry, Lokesh Jain, MD of TK Steel Group, expressed interest in future investments. Varinder Gupta, MD of IOL Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, and Puneet Agrawal, Director of MRM Medhya Greentech, represented the pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and ethanol sectors. Food processing and tea industry leaders such as Sushil Mittal, MD of Bhagwati Lactose Vegetarian Exports, and Harish Dua from the KG Export Team discussed the state’s infrastructure, including food parks and agricultural support systems.

Amit Kumar Modi, MD of Highland Ethanol, inquired about the availability of industrial zones. Additionally, Anoop Bector, MD of Bectors Foods, and Deepak Garg, Director of A.V. Cotspin Industries, held detailed discussions with the Chief Minister and lauded the proactive and industry-friendly stance of the Madhya Pradesh government.

Dr. Yadav highlighted recent state decisions, including labour settlements worth hundreds of crores, as proof of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of workers. He said that the state government is ready to make changes even at the Cabinet level if it helps in facilitating investment.
