BCL Industries Limited, along with its subsidiary Svaksha Distillery Limited, has announced to have won a substantial ethanol supply order for the Ethanol Supply Year 2025–26 under the Ethanol Blending Programme. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have collectively allotted 1,07,409 kilolitres (KL) of ethanol to the company group for supply across multiple locations nationwide.
Of the total allocation, BCL Industries will supply 60,183 KL, while Svaksha Distillery has been awarded 47,226 KL, which includes 17,894 KL allocated by Reliance Industries. The supply will be executed over all four quarters of FY26, further strengthening the position of BCL Industries in India’s expanding biofuel and renewable energy ecosystem.
In a parallel development, BCL Industries has achieved a key sustainability milestone with the issuance of 50,077 International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs). These certificates recognise renewable power generated between January and September 2025 at the company’s 10 MW captive biomass-based power plant in Bathinda, Punjab.
The plant operates on a 60 TPH biomass-fired boiler that uses paddy straw as its primary fuel—an important step in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating stubble burning. The certification was granted under the globally recognised I-REC Standard and facilitated in India through the International Carbon Exchange (ICX).
BCL Industries is expected to continue receiving I-RECs proportionate to future renewable energy production.
BCL Industries is on the spree of ethanol distillery expansion. Last year, the company revealed its plans to acquire Goyal Distillery in Haryana to bolster its ethanol production by setting up a 250 KLPD grain-based ethanol plant. Subsequently, the company secured an approval to establish a 75 KLPD bio-diesel plant and an oil extraction unit at its Kharagpur facility with an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore.
