AM Green to build ethanol refineries, SAF plant & green ammonia project in Andhra Pradesh

The Andhra Pradesh state government and AM Green Group have signed MoUs worth Rs 54,000 crore at the CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam to bolster green energy projects in the southern state.

Under the agreements, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu held, “AM Green will invest Rs 44,000 crore in Kakinada (Uppada) to set up a 1 million tonnes per annum Green Aluminium Complex in two phases, along with one of the world’s largest RFNBO-compliant Green Ammonia facilities of the same scale.”

Naidu also informed on the social media that in addition, AM Green will invest Rs 10,000 crore to set up multiple second-generation (2G) ethanol biorefineries and a 180 KTPA Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) plant across Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Anakapalli districts. Together, these projects aim to create an integrated “farm-to-flight” ecosystem, positioning North Andhra Pradesh as a leading global hub for next-generation biofuels.

Dr. CM Ramesh, Member of Parliament from Anakapalle Lok Sabha constituency, welcomed the investment, calling it a major milestone for the region. “Heartfelt gratitude to AM Green Group for choosing Anakapalli as a key destination in their Rs 10,000 crore green energy investments.

Ramesh stated, “The plan of AM Green to set up 2G ethanol biorefineries and a 180 KTPA SAF plant will be a game-changer for jobs, innovation, and clean energy leadership. A big thank you to the Chief Minister and the Government of Andhra Pradesh for enabling this transformational progress in Uttarandhra.”

AM Green, claiming to be a frontrunner in clean energy and circular manufacturing, is developing a portfolio of products aimed at accelerating the global shift to a net-zero future. Its green chemicals — including Green Ammonia, Green Hydrogen, Green Olefins, Green Chlorine, Green Caustic Soda, and Green Methanol — provide industries with low-carbon alternatives that match or surpass the performance of conventional materials, enabling cleaner and more sustainable operations.
