ORSL partners General Carbon to expand carbon advisory services

Mumbai headquartered Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORSL) has announced a strategic business development and service collaboration with General Carbon Advisory Services Private Limited (GC Advisory) to strengthen its sustainability and carbon management offerings. The partnership marks ORSL’s expansion into Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) advisory and compliance support, complementing its existing expertise in waste valorisation, bioenergy, and environmental engineering.

Under the agreement, ORSL will leverage its industrial network and market presence to identify and support companies requiring CBAM preparedness, emissions reporting, and sustainability compliance. GC Advisory will provide specialized technical services, including carbon accounting frameworks, emissions assessments, reporting systems, and verification support.

The collaboration will deliver a comprehensive suite of services such as CBAM readiness assessments, emissions data review, supplier engagement strategies, sustainability reporting systems, and broader decarbonisation advisory. Key sectors targeted include steel, aluminium, cement, chemicals, and engineering products.

Yashas Bhand, Whole-time Director, ORSL, said, “As global markets move toward stricter carbon accountability frameworks, Indian industry requires practical and credible support to remain competitive. This collaboration strengthens ORSL’s ability to support clients with sustainability, carbon compliance, and decarbonisation advisory services while building long-term value-driven relationships.”

Priyanka Pothana, MD and CEO, General Carbon Advisory Services, added, “With carbon regulations such as CBAM effectively translating emissions into direct financial liabilities, businesses need to approach carbon management with the same rigor as financial planning. Our collaboration with ORSL enables us to support organizations in not only meeting compliance requirements, but doing so through a structured, strategy-led approach. By integrating carbon data, financial impact assessment, and forward-looking decarbonisation strategies, we aim to help companies turn regulatory pressure into a strategic lever reducing tax exposure while building long-term competitiveness in a carbon-constrained global market.”

Founded in 2008, ORSL is a leader in sustainable waste management and operates India’s first municipal solid waste processing plant using patented biomethanation technology. GC Advisory, established in 2009, has served over 250 clients globally and is recognized for its expertise in carbon markets, ESG frameworks, and climate finance.

The partnership aims to position both firms at the forefront of India’s transition toward a low-carbon economy.
