Beyond Renewables & Recycling secures Rs 5 crore from Momentum Capital

Beyond Renewables & Recycling, a Noida based climate-tech startup pioneering sustainable solar panel recycling, has raised Rs 5 crore in pre-seed funding led by US-based Momentum Capital. The round also saw participation from Venture Catalysts, IIMA Ventures, Oorjan Cleantech, and Gautam Das, founder of Oorjan.

Beyond Renewables & Recycling said that the funds will help the company scale its proprietary recycling technology, strengthen waste sourcing, and expand operations to address India’s emerging solar waste crisis.

The recycling firm was founded in 2024 by Manhar Dixit and Vedant Taneja. Beyond Renewables has developed and validated an eco-effective process that recovers over 95% of high-value materials like silver, silicon, aluminum and copper from end-of-life solar panels. The company uses advanced thermal and chemical treatments to ensure high purity and recovery rates, converting hazardous e-waste into a valuable source of sustainable materials.

With India expected to generate 1.2 million tons of solar PV waste by 2040, much of which is currently processed informally, Beyond Renewables aims to create a formal, circular recycling system.

Manhar Dixit said, “The solar waste problem is not a distant threat, it’s a present and rapidly escalating issue. The Beyond Renewables team, with their advanced technology and clear go-to-market strategy, is uniquely positioned to dominate this market, which is projected to grow rapidly by 2040 to a ₹20,000 crore market. We are thrilled to partner with them to build a circular economy for India’s solar industry.”

Ankur Shrivastava, Managing Partner, Momentum Capital, emphasized the urgent need for such innovation: “Solar waste is a rapidly escalating issue. Beyond Renewables’ technology and strategy position it to lead a market projected to reach ₹20,000 crore by 2040.”

Journey has begun

The company is commissioning its first industrial-scale plant in Rajasthan, with over 2,000 metric tons of solar waste already secured. Supported by IIT Mandi Catalyst and NSRCEL, Beyond Renewables is expanding partnerships across the solar value chain and has signed LOIs for recycled materials like glass and silicon.
