SECI Opens New Tenders For Wind & Floating Solar Plus Storage

1200 MW Wind Tender

The solar nodal body SECI has invited bids for 1200 MW Inter-State Transmission system (ISTS)-connected Wind power projects on a pan India basis, according to a notice inviting tender published on 15th Feb. This forms a part of the wind tender, Tranche VII. The tender was released just after results were announced from the previous, VI tranche, auction.

Reports suggest the Tranche-VI auction was completed with bids as low as Rs 2.82 /kWh quoted by Ostro Energy (300MW), Adani Renewables (250 MW), Srijan Energy(150 MW) and Powerica (50 MW) while Rs 2.83 was quoted by SB energy( 324 MW) and Ecoren Energy (125 MW).

The site further states that a detailed request for selection (RfS) for the Tranche VII auction will be available by February 22. Response has improved , presumably on the basis of clarity on land issues in Gujarat, where the new land pooling policy will apply for these new tranches, even as tranches 1 to 5 are still stuck it seems.

20 MW Floating Solar Project in Lakshadweep

Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) is planning to develop RE Projects under its ownership at Lakshadweep. This forms the second tender which came out in a matter of days on 18th Feb. The tender is for 20 MW of floating solar projects accompanied with 60 MWh of battery energy storage systems on the island archipelago of Lakshadweep.

Projects will be developed on a build-own-operate (BOO) basis, with locations spread across 11 separate islands, in line with a goal for powering the archipelago’s inhabited islands partly or entirely with renewables.

The scope of the work includes design, engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing and commissioning of the specific capacity as well as 10 years of operations and maintenance (O&M) services.

Date of Pre-Bid meeting is 1st of March. Bids will be accepted by April 1, 2019, with techno-commercial proposals to be opened on the same day.
