Noida based CBG conglomerate REnergy Dynamics (RED) has signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh state government to invest Rs 500 crore in compressed biogas (CBG) projects across the state.
The MoU was inked on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos. As per the agreement, RED will develop CBG infrastructure aimed at promoting circular waste management, strengthening rural livelihoods and enhancing long-term energy security in Uttar Pradesh.
The initiative is aligned with the Centre’s key sustainability programmes, including the SATAT (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) scheme and India’s Net Zero 2070 commitment. The collaboration reflects a shared focus on accelerating the transition to cleaner energy and reducing the carbon footprint of the transport and energy sectors.
RED operates as an integrated techno-financial platform for the development of sustainable bioenergy projects. The company said its investment plan is driven by the urgency to address climate change while supporting sustainable economic growth through renewable and low-carbon energy solutions.
Co-Founded by Kushagra Nandan and Varun Karad, RED launched a new vertical called ‘REDi’ to offer specialised industrial construction and EPC solutions across India. It also partnered EUSUSO Denmark for establishing state-of-the-art CBG plants in India. It also roped in global automation technology and software leader Emerson bringing automation solutions in CBG projects.
RED founders have also launched an integrated clean energy platform called ‘LNK Energy,’ mainly for solar sector with an initial investment of Rs 10,000 crore.
