ORSL to build large-scale CBG & bio-fertilizer project in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh

The Bioenergy Project Development and EPC vertical of Organic Recycling Systems (ORSL) has secured a ‘large-scale’ order from Shreyam Manek Agro Products Pvt. Ltd. for the construction of a state-of-the-art integrated Compressed Biogas (CBG) and biofertilizer project in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh.

The facility is designed to produce an output of 10 tons-per-day (TPD) of CBG using agriculture based feedstock and will become a part of larger & integrated modern gaushala. The investment is valued between Rs 50 crore and Rs 100 crore for the project.

Under the scope of this contract, ORSL will undertake equity participation and end-to-end EPC execution, encompassing detailed engineering, technology integration, supply of critical equipment, construction, installation and commissioning of the CBG facility.

The CBG project reflects a strategic collaboration and is part of a larger plan of 10 (ten) such integrated projects that will be developed in various locations of Madhya Pradesh with a total outlay of INR 500-600 crore within a period of 3 years.

Commenting on the development, Sarang Bhand, Managing Director of ORSL , said, “This project reinforces ORSL’s commitment to delivering scalable, future-ready infrastructure that bridges agriculture, sustainability, and renewable energy. Our collaboration with Shreyam Manek Agro Product Pvt. Ltd. demonstrates the growing industry confidence in integrated circular economy solutions and we look forward to executing this project with the highest standards of engineering excellence.”

Pankaj Tanwar, CEO, Bioenergy, ORSL, added, “This project reflects the strength of ORSL’s integrated agri-energy infrastructure where engineering excellence meets long-term operational sustainability. We remain focused on delivering reliable, high performance solutions that create measurable environmental and economic value for all stakeholders.”

Bolstering Environment & Economy

The CBG project is expected to strengthen regional resource efficiency, promote sustainable practices, and contribute to India’s broader energy transition goals by enabling innovative utilization of organic feedstocks.

The CBG and bio-fertilizer project, bolstered by ORSL expertise in the bioenergy sector, would create a powerful circular economy model that maximizes resource efficiency and profitability. While the CBG unit converts agricultural residue, animal dung and other agri-based organic waste into clean fuel, the by-product digestate can be processed into high-quality organic bio-fertilizer. This integrated approach would ensure zero waste, reduce chemical fertilizer dependence, lower greenhouse gas emissions and enhance soil health. ORSL has expertise in executing such integrated projects that strengthen rural economies, promote energy security and support national sustainability goals.

A month ago, ORSL also secured a Rs 50 crore contract to set-up a CBG project in Rajasthan. The company is also officially empanelled by Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) as ‘Execution Partner’ and the two will jointly develop CBG projects across India.
