In a significant move aimed at addressing India’s growing urban waste crisis, Netel India Limited (a Neterwala Group company) and Organic Recycling Systems Limited (ORS) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore joint participation in upcoming solid waste management and waste-to-energy projects. This collaboration will span Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) models, focusing particularly on integrated solutions such as Compressed Biogas (CBG) generation.
The collaboration between Netel India and ORS is designed to facilitate joint participation in forthcoming PPP and EPC projects that include operations and maintenance components. Under this arrangement, ORS will lead the engineering and technical execution, particularly for initiatives centered around organic waste processing and the production of CBG. Netel India will take charge of project financing and oversee segments focused on RDF-to-energy conversion.
In addition to new projects, the alliance will also explore opportunities to enhance Netel’s existing environmental facilities by integrating ORS’s advanced biogas technologies to improve environmental performance and operational efficiency.
Commenting on the collaboration, Yashas Bhand, CEO and Whole-Time Director of Organic Recycling Systems, said, “This MoU reflects our belief in the power of strategic collaboration to solve India’s most pressing environmental challenges. Netel India brings complementary strengths, and we are confident that this partnership will unlock new opportunities for innovation, scale, and impact.
Commenting on the collaboration, Rajesh Saigal, Group President,Engineering businesses at Netrewala group, said, “With India facing mounting pressure to improve its waste management systems and meet renewable energy targets, collaborations like this offer a promising avenue for scalable and sustainable waste solutions that blend technical innovation with strong execution capability.”
