The Municipal Corporation of Una in Himachal Pradesh has floated a short-term tender for the installation of a 20 tonnes per day (TPD) Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant. This CBG project will be based on the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW).
As per the notification, the facility will be to be set up at Rampur and aims to strengthen scientific waste management and promote CBG production from municipal waste.
The bid submission process will close on February 20, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2026. Technical and financial bids will be opened on February 21, 2026.
According to the tender notice dated February 6, 2026, the project has an estimated cost of Rs 12.60 crore. It includes installation, commissioning and operation and maintenance (O&M) of the plant for a period of 10 years after successful commissioning. The initiative is expected to convert organic municipal waste into clean biogas, contributing to sustainable urban waste management and renewable energy generation in the region.
The Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) for the project is Rs 26 lakh, and the tender fee is Rs 15,000.
The tender has been issued through the Himachal Pradesh e-procurement portal, and eligible government-registered contractors and firms are invited to participate. The project marks a significant step toward promoting CBG production and sustainable solid waste management in Himachal Pradesh.
