Delta Biogas awards work order to PlanET for 12-TPD CBG plant in Andhra Pradesh

The Delta Biogas Palnadu Two Pvt. Ltd, a company owned by reputed Delta Group, has signed a work order with Germany-based PlanET Biogastechnik GmbH for the development of a 12 tonnes per day (TPD) Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant.

The work order has been granted to biogas expert PlanET for CBG project that will come up in Vipparia Village of Palnadu district in Andhra Pradesh.

Delta Biogas held that the agreement was formally signed on January 28, 2026, marking a significant step toward strengthening clean energy infrastructure in the region.

The upcoming facility is expected to convert organic waste and agricultural residues into CBG, contributing to India’s SATAT initiative and supporting the transition toward sustainable fuels. Once operational, the plant will help reduce greenhouse gas emissions while generating renewable energy and organic manure as by-products.

Andhra Pradesh has emerged as a promising hub for biogas and CBG development, driven by its strong agricultural base and availability of biomass feedstock. The state government has been actively promoting investments in biofuels. State Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar had said that Andhra will see the development of 500 biogas projects. The state has already given go ahead to Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) to establish 500 Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants across various districts with a combined capacity of 11,000 metric tons.
