Air Liquide has sold off its biogas production activities in the United States of America, France, Norway and Sweden to Mobius Renewables. The sale comprises several production units and distribution assets. The divestiture illustrates strategy of Air Liquide to create value and actively manage its portfolio.
The agreement covers six operational landfill gas-to-renewable natural gas (RNG) sites in the US, five operational farm waste sites in France, and a 51% stake in Redo Biosolutions, which manages production and distribution assets in Norway and Sweden.
Mobius Renewables, headquartered in Houston, Texas, is a global, vertically integrated low-carbon fuels platform founded in December 2025 by funds managed by IFM Investors. The company focuses on accelerating the development, production, distribution, and commercialization of RNG across North America and Europe.
With this acquisition, Mobius Renewables will consolidate GreenGasUSA and the newly acquired portfolio under a single brand, while Redo Biosolutions will maintain its existing strategy and branding.
The combined operations produce and distribute more than 5.5 million MMBtu of renewable natural gas annually, sourced from landfill gas and anaerobic digestion.
Cynthia Walker, President and CEO, Mobius Renewables, informed, ‘With this transaction, our teams can now focus on improving operations and investing in new projects as we set the foundation for future global growth. We remain partnership-focused and have an unparalleled position with the right expertise, the right capital, and the right mindset to unlock value for our partners while accelerating measurable progress toward their sustainability goals.’
