Dhanuka Agritech Limited and Swami Keshavanand Rajasthan Agricultural University, Bikaner, have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to focus on soil management in agriculture, ensuring the availability of high-quality seeds, plant protection, improving crop production, and facilitating easy access to agricultural innovations for farmers.
Dr. Prakash Singh Shekhawat, the Research Director at SKRAU, emphasized that this collaboration will significantly boost agricultural research and extension activities. Dr. Arun Kumar, the Vice Chancellor, highlighted that the MOU not only provides farmers with information on effective plant protection measures but also includes details about an agricultural input outlet established by Dhanuka Agritech Limited outside the university. Additionally, arrangements will be made to supply agricultural inputs through this outlet.
RG Aggarwal, Chairman of Dhanuka Group, stressed the importance of agricultural knowledge, quality seeds, soil productivity enhancement, water conservation in farming, and plant protection as essential requirements for today’s farmers. He proposed joint efforts to develop model agricultural villages and discussed offering scholarships, internships, and employment opportunities to agricultural students by Dhanuka Group.
The discussions emphasized the idea that the prosperity of farmers leads to overall village development. The event was attended by dean directors, scientists, and farmers from the university, along with directors of various institutes of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in Bikaner, and the director of the National Seed Spices Research Center in Ajmer.
As part of the Dhanuka Agritech event, a training session for agricultural distributors was conducted, with 50 participants. The training covered scientific cultivation practices for citrus fruits, spice crops, wheat, gram, and mustard.
Recently, Dhanuka Agritech introduced a new herbicide called ‘Tizom,’ designed to help farmers control weeds in sugarcane crops and enhance overall farm profitability. Additionally, Dhanuka announced the commencement of trial production at its new plant in Dahej, Gujarat.
