Delhi’s Municipal body Surprises With ‘Waste to Wonder’ park

New Delhi has a new attraction, and the crowds are piling in! Located next to a busy inter state bus terminal of Sarai kale Khan, the new development is set to become a must see for all fans of recycling and sustainability.
Called the Waste to Wonder park, the park is a project of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation, the biggest of the capital’s municipal bodies. The park offers visitors chance to see seven existing wonders of the world, recreated painstakingly for their likeness to the originals. And if that wasn’t enough, here is the kicker. All the wonders have been created using waste from the municipalities own dumpyard, mostly metallic waste.
Thus, be it bicycle rims, discarded flanges and pipes, bicycle chains etc, everything finds a use on the recreation of these seven wonders by various artists. Most of the exhibits have been made over  130 day period. With some clever lighting in the evening, the park is one of those rare sights in the city that becomes even better in the evenings.
