Eco Recycling to form Indian ‘joint venture’ with ERI USA

Mumbai based Eco Recycling Ltd will form a 50:50 joint venture with American firm Electronic Recyclers International (ERI), marking a significant step toward strengthening IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) and circular economy solutions in India. Eco Recycling has received board approval for JV, the company said in its filing before SEBI.

The proposed partnership aims to establish a new entity dedicated to enterprise recycling, resource recovery and secure data destruction. Eco Recycling has stated that the initiative is subject to statutory and regulatory approvals before commencing operations.

As per the approved structure, the joint venture will have equal equity participation from both partners. Governance will be shared through a four-member Board of Directors, with two representatives nominated by each company. The Board has also cleared the execution of key agreements, including a Shareholders’ Agreement (SHA) and an Operating Agreement, which will define operational protocols and stakeholder rights.

Strategic Focus on Circular Economy

The collaboration is designed to address the growing demand for responsible disposal of IT assets and efficient recovery of valuable materials from electronic waste. By combining Eco Recycling’s domestic expertise with ERI’s global experience, the venture is expected to enhance capabilities in secure data destruction and sustainable recycling practices.

Key focus areas of the joint venture include IT Asset Disposition (ITAD), enterprise-level e-waste recycling, resource recovery, secure data destruction and circular economy solutions.

The development was disclosed under Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, along with the relevant SEBI Master Circular. The formation of the joint venture remains contingent on necessary statutory clearances.

Once operational, the partnership is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing India’s electronic waste management ecosystem while aligning with global sustainability standards.
