We recommend: This Changes Everything, Naomi Klein

If you haven’t already read this book, then you should.  Naomi Klein is the gifted writer who also wrote “ No Logo’, the critically acclaimed book  with a dispassionate analysis of corporate domination.  While her previous books have focused on the ‘neoliberal’ order and their impact, with ‘ This Changes Everything’, she focuses on how denial of climate change is simply wrong, and why action to manage it should have started by now.

To use a cricketing analogy, climate change seems to be suffering the same fate as the decline of test cricket, where everyone admits, or knows that  it is a slow motion wreck in progress, but shockingly, no one is quite able to do something big about it. Test cricket’s future is held in thrall by the profits of 2020 cricket, while climate change in her view, is held to ransom by the unreasonable belief in market forces to solve the problem. Market forces that are guided solely by profit and growth, and have repeatedly let down the vast majority of people.
