Opportunity for Solar PV pumps in Telangana. July 25 last date

Telangana state continues to impress with its concerted renewables push.  While being well placed to benefit is one thing, the state has shown the initiative and will that is much needed to make a difference too.  The Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation Limited (TSREDCO) has invited tenders for the design, supply, and installation and commissioning of Solar PV water pumping systems across the state.

Following in the footsteps of neighbours Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, Telangana will now look to procure solar PV water pumping systems. The state has key criteria set which need to be met before a company is eligible for bidding.

1. The company must be registered for manufacturing solar photovoltaic cells, modules or motor-pump sets, or solar pump inverters in India. Additionally, all their products must be tested and certified by an MNRE accredited lab.
2. Bidder should have an average turnover of at least ₹10 million (~$0.15 million) in the last three years.
3. Previous experience of supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning at least five solar PV pump sets (AC or DC) in off-grid solar PV water pumping systems in the last 3 years under any government programme in the country.
4. Lastly, they should also have test reports issued by MNRE or MNRE authorised test centres.

The bidders are required to participate in the bidding process in the following manner. Quote the best price for Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of SPV water pumping system under turnkey basis adhering to MNRE technical specifications of 2015-16 and including transportation. Besides which the winning bidders will also be required to provide a 5years insurance and Comprehensive Maintenance Contract for a period of 5 years from the date of installation.

The program will aim to install solar-powered water pumping systems across the state with variable capacities which will be either of 3HP/5HP/7.5HP as mentioned in the tender. The initiative is being carried out under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission’s (JNNSM) off-grid and Decentralized Solar Applications and will also be supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
