IFL Enterprises forays into green energy, organic waste management

Agri-commodity trader IFL Enterprises is exploring strategic diversification into two high-growth sectors—green energy and organic waste management and recycling—as part of its long-term expansion roadmap.

The Ahmedabad-based company announced that its board of directors will convene on July 17, 2025, to evaluate the viability and potential of entering these emerging sectors. The company is considering venturing into renewable energy contracting, including the design, construction, and operation of solar and wind power plants, as well as offering eco-friendly infrastructure solutions.

In addition, IFL Enterprises is eyeing the organic waste management space with plans to provide waste-to-energy and recycling services. These solutions aim to convert organic waste into clean energy and reusable by-products, offering both environmental benefits and new revenue streams.

“India’s growing green economy presents significant opportunities, and we aim to contribute meaningfully by offering services that support sustainability and circular economic models,” the company stated.

The organic waste management and recycling market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10–12% over the next five years. By entering this space, IFL seeks to become a key partner for municipalities and industries looking to reduce landfill waste and environmental pollution.

The board will conduct a comprehensive feasibility assessment, examining potential operational models, capital investments, and implementation timelines for both verticals.

These initiatives are part of IFL Enterprises’ broader strategy to diversify its business portfolio and tap into emerging, high-demand sectors that align with India’s sustainability goals.
