Gensol, Matrix Set To Build Green Hydrogen Project In Maharashtra
Gensol Engineering Limited recently collaborated with Matrix Gas & Renewables and won a project to set up India’s first Green Hydrogen Valley in Pune.
Gensol Engineering, a leading player in the renewable energy sector specializing in solar engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC), as well as electric mobility solutions, collaborated with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., a green hydrogen infrastructure developer and natural gas aggregator, to secure this project.
Gensol–Matrix will set up a Green Hydrogen production plant on a Build, Own, and Operate (BOO) basis to supply Green Hydrogen to the specialty chemical sector, with a firm offtake agreement for 20 years. Commenting on this achievement, Anmol Jaggi, Managing Director of Gensol Engineering Ltd., said, “The Government of India has taken a great step in promoting these Hydrogen Valleys through the Department of Science & Technology (DST). We are going to supply Green Hydrogen to the specialty chemical sector in Pune, Maharashtra, on a round-the-clock (RTC) basis to help develop the Green Hydrogen economy in India.”
Chirag Kotecha, Whole-Time Director at Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd., added, “This Green Hydrogen Valley is being facilitated by National Chemicals Laboratories (NCL) in Pune, within the Kurkumbh region. We will have the opportunity to establish Green Hydrogen generation concepts, applications, and R&D facilities. We were selected through a competitive tender as the best bidder, both technically and commercially, to set up a Green Hydrogen generation plant on a BOO basis via the electrolysis route.”
Gensol and Matrix, both promoted by common stakeholders, will continue to collaborate in the Green Hydrogen and its derivatives, including Green Steel and Green Ammonia, leveraging each entity’s skill sets.
