ACME Signs Pact With IGL To Explore Potential Of Green Hydrogen Supply

The two companies have now come together to use their different expertise to find ways to develop the generation of Green Hydrogen and its distribution. The MoU in this direction was recently signed between Ashwani Dudeja (President & Director of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia, ACME) and Sanjeev Kumar Bhatia (Vice President – Business Development & Gas Sourcing, IGL) recently.

The two firms, per the MoU mandate, would work together to create demand for the developing form of clean energy and increase its adoption by customers. These companies are all set to work towards exploring the chance of starting green hydrogen generation plants and using them to blend with the existing pipeline network of IGL, which supplies its gas to households and industrial and commercial consumers.

Manoj K Upadhyay, Founder and Chairman of ACME Group, said both companies would identify areas and projects of green hydrogen in India. Dudeja meanwhile noted that the partnership would benefit both of these firms. He said that IGL already has an established network, so it could easily blend green hydrogen and supply it.

Sanjay Kumar, Managing Director of IGL, said the firm already had experience supplying hydrogen-enriched Compressed Natural Gas (H-CNG) as a pilot project in Delhi, where it partnered with the Indian Oil Corporation Limited. He said that the usage of green hydrogen in the automobile sector is currently in the preliminary stage. Still, it would like to explore its utility in the industry with the support of the company’s distribution network.
