Recyclekaro triples e-waste recycling capacity to 24,000 tonnes

Electronic waste management and lithium-ion battery recycling conglomerate Recyclekaro has announced a major expansion of its operations, increasing its total recycling capacity to 24,000 tonnes annually at its state-of-the-art facility in Palghar, near Mumbai.

This expansion significantly boosts the e-waste recycling capacity of Recyclekaro from 7500 MT to 24000 MT per year and battery recycling capacity from 4200 MT to 10,000 MT per year. This is reinforcing its commitment to advancing India’s green agenda through sustainable solutions for e-waste, battery waste, and plastic recycling.

India generates over 3.2 million tonnes of e-waste annually, with lithium-ion battery waste growing at a 30% CAGR. Recyclekaro’s expanded capacity directly addresses these challenges, accelerating the country’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future. This development is vital for mitigating the environmental risks associated with improper battery disposal, while recovering valuable resources for reuse. Recyclekaro remains committed to a zero-disposal approach, ensuring that all waste is recycled or repurposed, aligning with its mission to minimize landfill waste and promote circularity.

Rajesh Gupta, Founder & Director, Recyclekaro, stated, “As we expand, we remain focused on pioneering innovative recycling solutions that will redefine the industry. By leveraging advanced technology and sustainable practices, Recyclekaro is driving India’s shift towards a circular economy. Our vision is to create a future where resources are infinitely reusable, contributing to a cleaner, greener planet”

Recyclekaro claims that equipped with cutting-edge technology, its Palghar facility recovers critical metals such as lithium, cobalt, nickel, and manganese with over 95% efficiency and 99.5% purity. These metals are crucial for the production of sustainable energy storage solutions.

To date, Recyclekaro has recycled 26,632 MT of e-waste and 8,432 MT of lithium-ion batteries, furthering its dedication to environmental sustainability.

Recyclekaro partners with leading battery manufacturers, automakers, and renewable energy companies, with a client roster including Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, and many others. With over 1,350 completed projects and 1,200+ collection touchpoints, the company is a trusted industry partner, driving sustainable change.
