JITF Infralogistics to develop twin waste-to-energy projects in Andhra Pradesh

JITF Infralogistics Ltd has announced that its subsidiaries have signed concession agreements to set up two waste-to-energy (WtE) plants in Andhra Pradesh, marking a major step in its expansion into sustainable infrastructure. The total investment of Rs 750 crore will create a combined capacity of 27 MW, supporting India’s goals of clean energy generation and effective waste management.

According to a regulatory filing with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the agreements were signed with the Swachh Andhra Corporation under the state government’s initiatives to promote environmentally responsible waste disposal.

Under the plan, Jindal Urban Waste Management (Nellore) Limited will develop a 12 MW plant in Nellore with an investment of ₹320 crore. Meanwhile, Jindal Urban Waste Management (Kakinada) Limited will establish a 15 MW facility in the Kakinada–Rajahmundry cluster at a cost of ₹430 crore.

JITF Infralogistics, a micro-cap company engaged in urban infrastructure, water management, and energy generation, said the move reinforces its strategic focus on renewable energy and sustainable waste solutions.

The upcoming plants aim to tackle two key challenges—urban waste management and clean energy production—by converting municipal solid waste into usable electricity. This will help reduce the dependency on landfills while contributing to the national renewable energy mix.

Financially, JITF Infralogistics reported an improvement in standalone performance in the first quarter of FY26, with profit after tax rising to ₹7.38 lakh from ₹4.96 lakh in the same period last year. However, the company’s consolidated net loss widened to ₹470.85 lakh, even as revenue grew to ₹55,016.44 lakh.

The new projects are expected to strengthen JITF’s footprint in India’s waste-to-energy sector and contribute significantly to the country’s broader sustainable development objectives.

The Andhra Pradesh government is striving to strengthen its circular economy and is looking to develop waste to energy projects in each district of the southern state.
